Spurs wait for UFEA Cup Draw

Tottenham Hotspurs are one of six British clubs waiting to see who they will meet in the UFEA Cup first round when the draw is made at noon today.

Spurs will play over two legs on 18th September and 2nd October, with the winners going forward to the UFEA Cup groups stages which will consist of eight groups of five teams each.

The final itself will be held on the 20th May 2009 at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul Turkey and will be the first time the country has hosted a UFEA Cup final.

There are some big teams you would normally assiociate with the Champions League in the draw this afternoon, with Italian giants AC Milan high on most teams list of clubs they want to avoid.

Spurs to sign Russian Striker

Spartak Moscow has announced that their Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is poised to join Spurs.

"A deal has been agreed between the clubs and the transfer may be concluded by Thursday," said a club spokesman.

Although the deal has yet to be finalised however fees have been agreed and the player is flying over to London for a medical once he gets a UK Visa.
